How to Perform TRX Serratus Slides

Today’s post is a clip from our Monthly Video Series, PT to the Gym with physical therapist Pat Suarez from Suarez Sports and Orthopedic Physical Therapy. Here CDSF coach Dan Jones and Pat Suarez go over the TRX Serratus Slide.

This exercise is something that we commonly use with our overhead athletes and those who present with a flat thoracic spine posture. The Serratus Slide is a great way to teach proper position of the scapula on the rib cage and train proper upward rotation, which is important for throwing, training overhead, and keeping the shoulders healthy.

When performing remember to:

1. Engage your abs and push away from the TRX to set your body in the proper position

2. Maintain the position as your lightly push into the TRX straps and reach your hands toward the ceiling

3. Walk your feet back to make it more challenging and forward to make the exercise easier.

Give them a try and let us know how they go!
